Standards and governance

Editorial Policy

These standards govern how content on this site is researched, written, reviewed and corrected. They apply equally to educational articles and to platform research pages.

1. Independence

gmTrade Research Desk is editorially independent. No platform, broker or third party pays for coverage, reviews content before publication, or influences what we publish. We hold no affiliation with gmTrade or any other platform discussed on this site, and we do not accept compensation in exchange for favourable descriptions.

2. Purpose of our content

Everything we publish is general education. We explain how markets, instruments, orders and platforms work so readers can ask better questions. We do not provide financial, investment, tax or trading advice, and nothing on this site is tailored to an individual's circumstances.

3. Sourcing standards

  • We rely on publicly available documentation, industry data and established market literature.
  • Where a claim cannot be verified in a public source, we either omit it or label it as unverified.
  • We do not reproduce marketing claims as factual statements.
  • We do not infer regulatory status, ownership or financial condition from indirect evidence.

4. What we will not publish

  1. Fabricated ratings, scores, awards, testimonials or user reviews.
  2. Guaranteed-return claims, profit promises or performance projections.
  3. Statements implying affiliation, partnership or endorsement by any platform.
  4. Artificial urgency, countdowns, or pressure to fund a trading account.
  5. Invented statistics, invented quotes or invented licensing details.

5. Risk disclosure requirements

Every article that discusses trading activity carries a risk statement. Where leverage, volatility or derivative exposure is described, we state the loss implications explicitly rather than in passing. Our guides on risk management in trading and market volatility exist because risk is the most consistently under-explained topic in trading content.

6. Review and revision

Articles are reviewed by our Financial Markets Research Team before publication and carry a visible review date. Platform research pages are revisited periodically, since platform features and terms change over time. Where a page has been materially revised, the date is updated.

7. Corrections

Errors are corrected promptly and openly. We do not silently delete inaccurate material; we amend it and update the review date. If you believe something on this site is inaccurate, including anything in our gmTrade review, we welcome factual correction requests accompanied by verifiable sources.

8. Separation of fact and interpretation

We distinguish between what is observable (a documented fee schedule, a stated order type) and what is interpretive (whether a platform structure suits a particular trading style). Interpretation is labelled as such, and readers are always directed to primary sources for verification.

9. Advertising and monetisation

We do not run affiliate links to trading platforms, and we do not link to the official website of any platform we review. If our funding model ever changes, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect.

10. Compliance boundaries

This site offers no trading functionality, no account creation for trading, no deposits and no withdrawals. It does not represent any platform, and it does not solicit trading activity. See our terms and conditions and research methodology for the operational detail behind these commitments.
